Manufacturing Process and Materials
VWM wiremesh is
prefabricated to rectangular or square steel mesh consisting of a series
of parallel, longitudinal, cold-worked high-yield steel wires welded at
regular intervals to transverse wires.
VWM fabric is manufactured on automatic welding machines, ensuring
uniform spacing of wires and consistent cross-sectional areas.
The welding is accomplished by an electronically-controlled electrical
process employing the principle of fusion combined with pressure, which
actually fuses the intersecting wires into a homogeneous section without
loss of strength.
The welds in plain cold-worked wires contribute to the bonding and
anchorage values in concrete.

The wires used in the fabric
are cold drawn from controlled quality mild steel wire rods with carbon
contents generally less than 0.15%. WWF is manufactured conforming to IS
: 1566 / 1982 with long and cross wire spacing varying from 25mm to
400mm.
The wires conform to IS : 432 - Pt II / 1982 which specifies and
ultimate tensile strength of 570 N/mm2 and a characteristic strength of
480 N/mm2. Wires used for manufacture of fabric are generally in the
range of 2mm to 8mm diameter.
Hard Drawn Wire
Plain hard drawn wires are produced from wire rod by the cold worked
process. This process increases significantly the hardness, stiffness,
proof stress, tensile strength and elastic limit of the wire. |
General Purpose
Application
VWM Weldfence
Welded Wire Mesh offers a convenient means to quickly partition /
baricade large areas with rigid fencing. Hot dip Galvanised fencing with
various spacing/wire dia. and G.I. Posts, U-clips, Post-caps, Bolts/Nuts
is commonly used for Bunglows, Factory shades etc. It is also used as
guards for trees, machines and electrical equipments. |

Floor Gratings
Welded Wire mesh is an easier alternative to plates for industrial
structural flooring. It provides for lighter material and ventilation
across floors.
|
Welded Wire Gabions
Gabions are heavy duty rectangular wire mesh baskets filled with
rock or rubble to economically and effectively construct earth retaining
walls and erosion control structures. Sizes generally are in the range
of 100 x 100 to 150 x 150 with wires of 2.5 to 4.0mm |
